Bead Vocabulary 101 - Clasps

All good jewelry must come to an end, and what you put on the ends makes all the difference.  I want to show examples of the clasps I use.
a.  These clasps are called bar and ring toggles.  They are easy to fasten than traditional clasps, and are handmade in Bali.  Bali silver is .925 sterling silver, which means that it is 92.5% silver, and 7.5% copper, which makes the silver stronger than pure silver.

b.  These clasps are called s-hooks.  Again, they are made in Bali, and fasten more securely than toggles.

c.  These are bar and ring toggles, put have extra circles for multiple strands.

d.  These are slide locks for multiple strands, and they fasten securely.

e.  Lobster claws are a more traditional clasp, and fasten securely.

Look at the beautiful things I got at the Gem Faire at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium today!  Beads, silver wire, findings and chain!

The beads are - picture jasper, pink opal, blue mountain jade, green chrysoprase, laboradite, blue fire opal.  Sterling silver pendants.

Swedish Night Out!

Tonight I am getting a Swedish massage, by my friend, who is Swedish.  After that, we are going to see "The Girl Who Played With Fire", a Swedish movie.  Lisbeth Salander is so cool with her tattoos and body piercings.  Makes me wish I still had my old nose ring.

Well it's official. I have decided to become a blogger. I just started tonight. I opened my Etsy store about two weeks ago. I have 26 items up so far, but more will be coming. My back patio/photography studio is turning out quite well. Plus, my bedroom/art studio seems to work. The Santa Monica Bead Faire is coming up this weekend! Hopefully it will have many great new treasures.
